Create Your Own Love Story

"Few human joys are as deep and thrilling as those experienced by two people who love one another and have achieved something as the result of a great, shared effort.”

— Pope Francis Amoris Laetitia, 130

Creating a joyful marriage love story that endures and inspires is, indeed, not an easy task, especially today when marriage is easily dismissed.

For this reason, Deacon William Turrentine authored this new resource from CCL. “With an understanding of Christ and what his Church teaches about marriage, couples can write their love story in the context of God’s love story,” he says. “These are liberating, though sometimes difficult, truths, but they will deepen a couple’s love and enrich their marriage.”

  • Low-cost/high-impact complement to any parish or diocesan marriage program
  • Also great as a primary resource
  • Contains complete, NEW and approved readings and prayers — no other publication is necessary
  • Faithful, but with a welcoming tone to non-Catholics and non-practicing Catholics

Praise for Your Love Story

Your Love Story: A Guide to Engagement and Marriage includes some powerful stories and testimonies from couples that can truly speak to young men and women entering marriage preparation. In addition to the “Creating Your Love Story” questions at the end of each chapter, readers will also appreciate some of the interesting approaches to the dilemmas we encounter in today’s culture.”

— Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan
Archbishop of New York

“A perfect resource for engaged and married couples as well as priests, deacons and lay leaders for use in marriage preparation programs and counseling.”

— Rev. Erik Pohlmeier
Pastor, Our Lady of Holy Souls Parish Little Rock, Ark.

About the Author

As Deacon William Turrentine and  his fiance, Pat, went through marriage preparation, they thought that the Church’s teachings about sexuality — and especially against the use of contraception — were vague and impractical suggestions subject to correction by individual conscience. A year after they got married, however, Bill and his wife read Pope Paul VI’s Humanae Vitae and discovered that these challenging teachings could not be legitimately set aside by individual conscience.
