Self-care for better fertility is the best place to start.
The explosion of scientific research on the connection between nutrition and fertility confirms what Marilyn Shannon has been saying in Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition since 1990. That is, in many cases cycle irregularities can be either eliminated or alleviated simply through better nutrition or body balance. Originally written to help make the practice of Natural Family Planning easier for couples experiencing irregular cycles, this book has proven to be invaluable for anyone looking for improved fertility.
In this fourth edition, Shannon first provides practical guidelines for selecting nutritious food, the highest priority for maintaining good health. Next, she systematically examines a host of reproductive problems and identifies the specific nutrition and targeted supplementation that research shows can be used as self-care to overcome such problems or improve fertility.
Discover how nutrition affects the following:

Praise for Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition
“I love this book! It has already helped me have an easier menstrual cycle and have less water retention through the recommendations listed. I have recommended this book to so many other women.”
“This book was integral to my getting pregnant with both my children. I used it in conjunction with NFP charting, and I was able to lengthen my luteal phase (luteal insufficiency) and raise my basal temperatures (poor thyroid performance, overall too much inflammation in my system) naturally using her advice on nutrition and supplements. I recommend it highly.”
“I bought this book because my NFP instructor suggested it, and it has completely changed the way my husband and I look at food and dietary supplements. Now that I understand how to give my body what it needs, I feel really great, mentally and physically. Her advice is straight-forward and easy to follow, with a chart you can print for your fridge with your food goals for the day and a comprehensive list of vitamin suggestions. She has advice for women who are trying to avoid pregnancy, trying to conceive, pregnant, breastfeeding and raising children. I appreciate her advice about where to shop for good food, too, and I bought a cookbook she recommended. The style of the book is fun and easy to read, and she cites references and studies for everything.”
