Why did we change membership?
Membership changed so our supporters receive benefits that don’t just benefit them, but also those they care about. By better engaging and equipping our supporters they can participate, according to their desire and ability, in the evangelistic mission of the Couple to Couple League. Membership will no longer be required for CCL products and services. We want to be open to all people in their journey to learn and practice NFP. By changing the nature of membership we hope to attract more people to our mission.
What is not changing is that membership is a way you can participate in CCL’s efforts to bring the good news of NFP to the world. That is the sole focus of membership. Your CCL membership means you support our mission and want to help bring it to many others who are unaware or don’t understand the beauty of God’s plan for married love. We previously had only one level of membership. By incorporating additional levels of membership we give our benefactors additional benefits according to their level of giving.
What exactly changed in membership?
Effective September 1, 2015 we instituted the new levels of membership (see graphs below). All current CCL members were grandfathered in as Basic + members until their current membership expires. All new students enrolling in CCL classes will be given a free gift Basic membership for one year. Additional membership levels were implemented January 1, 2016.
What happened to my current expiration date?
From now on, all memberships will expire at the end of the calendar year. Every current member was grandfathered in at the Basic+ level for the duration of their membership until their current expiration year. For example, John and Jane Doe were members with an expiration date of June 30, 2017. They were grandfathered at the Basic+ level and their new expiration date is December 31st, 2017.
How will the expiration date be calculated after September 1, 2015?
Membership will be calculated based on giving within the calendar year. Each new calendar year will restart the calculation for each membership level.
If I’m grandfathered in, will I still get my hardcopy of Family Foundations mailed to me?
Yes. Everyone is grandfathered in at the Basic+ level which includes a hardcopy of Family Foundations as one of that level’s benefits.
If I’m grandfathered in, will I get free Postpartum or Premenopause Classes?
No. Beginning Sept. 1, 2015 there is a fee for those classes. They will only be free for those who contribute at least $10/month or $120/yr (Sustaining Member level or above).
How much will the Postpartum or Premenopause transition courses cost?
Both transition courses will cost $49 which includes a copy of the Transitions Student Guide. (If you already have the Transitions Student Guide the course will cost $40).
What if I just want the digital copy of Family Foundations but not the printed copy?
No problem. Just let us know and we will make sure to send you only the digital copy. If you choose this option, know that even more of your contribution is able to go toward the mission!
What if there are benefits I don’t really want at my level?
No problem. Just let us know and we will give you only the benefits you desire. If you choose this option, know that even more of your contribution is able to go toward the mission!
Do changes to membership affect my CycleProGo® subscription?
The CycleProGo® app and its associated subscription are not part of membership. Changes to membership will have no effect on your CycleProGo® subscription (nor does your CycleProGo® subscription have any effect on your membership).
Why did the new course pricing structure not come down in cost the amount of the old cost of membership, $35?
A basic membership is provided free to all students thanks to the generosity of current CCL members supporting the mission. The new pricing structure reflects the direct cost of materials provided, a share of the large upfront investment required to create the actual curriculum, and funds to allow for continued updates and maintenance of the course, balanced against the need to make the price attractive to potential students.
What if I just want a print or digital subscription to Family Foundations without becoming a member?
You may purchase Family Foundations without supporting the mission of CCL or becoming a member by going to our store and purchasing your subscription there. A digital subscription is $19 and a print subscription is $39.
