CCL Development Director Opportunity
Role:
The Development Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the development strategy for the Couple to Couple League. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director will be responsible for achieving the organization’s development and fundraising goals and engaging donors in ongoing cultivation and integration with the mission of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement new funding initiatives necessary to help grow CCL’s existing development infrastructure, including programs such as Planned Giving, Fertility Science Institute Investment Campaigns, Donor Cultivation Events grants, fees for services, bequests and other sources of income
- Oversees the Annual Development Plan
- Lead and manage CCL’s overall development efforts to raise at least an additional one million dollars annually
- Learn, use and keep DonorPerfect database up-to-date; develop and grow our individual donor base; manage direct mail and annual giving campaigns; cultivate major gifts
- Provide monthly dashboard of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) regarding fundraising activity
- Work in concert with CFO to maintain DonorPerfect database to allow for proper tax accounting
- Coordinate with Marketing Director to have an effective communications strategy with all constituents
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential individual and foundation donors
- Research grant/foundation possibilities and write grant proposals and reports to corporate and foundation funders
- Develop and grow our individual donor base; manage direct mail & annual giving campaigns; cultivate major gifts
- Work with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director to identity and cultivate major gift prospects; will assist Executive Director and Board President in determining appropriate personal fund-raising goals for Board Members and CCL staff accountable for achieving same goals
- Job is eligible for remote work
- Periodic travel of up to 30% will be required to visit donors or run outreach programs, attend events or meetings
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent prior experience. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
- 2-10 years of development and fundraising experience within the Catholic non-profit community in the United States; would consider qualified individual with great track record of fund-raising
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and/or a quota of over $1M annually of new funds
- Proven management and leadership capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, displaying courtesy and sensitivity
- High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative
- Strong verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to write persuasively
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and a thorough understanding of strategic development
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate, and manage new donors within the Catholic space and beyond the Catholic space
- Excellent computer skills and experience with donor database software implementation and utilization
- Expressed fidelity and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Culture of Life and CCL’s mission
Compensation
- Commensurate with experience; with benefits below
- 15 days annual vacation in addition to 14 recognized company holidays
