Living Easter Fully

The joy of Easter is not confined to a single Sunday. The Church invites us into fifty days of celebration, a season that stretches from the Resurrection to Pentecost. It is also a time of renewal and new life. It is no coincidence that this season so beautifully echoes the heart of NFP, which is rooted in a deep respect for life and the dignity of the human person.
At its core, NFP is profoundly pro-life. It begins with the understanding that fertility is not a problem to be managed, but a gift to be understood. In a culture that often separates love from life, NFP calls couples to a way of living that honors both. It supports spouses in welcoming life generously while also practicing responsible parenthood and discernment.
A Larger Vision of Marriage
This is where the mission of the Couple to Couple League (CCL) comes into focus. For decades, CCL has been dedicated to teaching NFP as part of a larger vision of marriage. This vision is one that is faithful, life-giving, and grounded in truth. Through its programs, couples are introduced to a method as well as into a way of life that strengthens their relationship.
Fertility awareness is not just for the early years of marriage or for spacing children. It is a lifelong gift. From the engagement period through the childbearing years and into perimenopause, understanding the rhythms of fertility equips couples with insight into their bodies and their shared life. This knowledge fosters respect and supports a unity that grows over time.
Transformation is Possible
The Easter season reminds us that transformation is possible. Just as the Resurrection brings new life out of what seemed lost, couples who embrace NFP often discover renewed connection and purpose in their marriage. There is a freedom that comes from living in alignment with God’s design. And, it bears fruit not only in family life but in the witness it offers to others, as well.
As we move toward Pentecost, we recall the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, who empowers and guides us in truth. In a similar way, couples practicing NFP rely on grace and the quiet work of the Spirit as they navigate the realities of marriage and family life.
This Easter season, consider how the call to new life is present in your own marriage. Through fertility awareness and the practice of NFP, that call becomes something lived day by day, is rooted in love, and open to life in all its fullness.
