What is the Mother Daughter Your Body & Cycle Program?

When it comes to helping our daughters understand their bodies, many moms wonder: Where do I even start? The Mother Daughter: Your Body & Cycle program was created to answer that question. It’s a flexible, practical, and faith-informed course that helps moms and daughters learn together about fertility, the menstrual cycle, and whole-body health.

This program isn’t a full sex-ed curriculum or a Theology of the Body course. Instead, it’s a guide to understanding the female cycle with a focus on:

  • Cycle awareness
  • Health and wellness
  • Introduction to charting

It blends science and faith in a way that builds confidence, promotes respect, and opens the door for meaningful, ongoing conversations.

What’s Inside the Program?

The program is built around eight modules, each featuring a short video lesson and matching activities in the Girl’s Guide and Leader Guide. Together, these resources provide moms and daughters with everything they need for shared learning and discussion. Topics include:

  1. Fertility 101
  2. The Beauty of the Female Body
  3. Hormones and the Cycle
  4. Common Questions
  5. Introduction to Charting
  6. The PeakDay App
  7. Cycle Health and Nutrition
  8. What’s Normal and What’s Not

The Girl’s Guide makes learning interactive with space for notes, activities, and reflections, while the Leader Guide equips moms with talking points, discussion questions, and extra tools. Bonus modules for moms include topics like how to talk to the doctor, how to recognize puberty signs, and facts about the pill.

As one excerpt from the Girl’s Guide puts it: “Being a female is an amazing gift. Being aware of our bodies and how they work gives us a glimpse into a beautiful plan.”

Three Flexible Ways to Use the Program

One of the strengths of the Mother Daughter program is its flexibility. Every mom-daughter pair is different, and this course was designed to fit a variety of needs.

  1. One-on-One at Home
Many moms find that going through the program privately, at their own pace, creates the best space for open conversations. This format allows daughters to ask personal questions and gives moms the chance to tailor discussions to their child’s age and stage.
  2. Group Learning
Some families prefer the encouragement of community. Going through the program with other moms and daughters—whether in a parish, school, or neighborhood group—fosters shared learning and friendship. Girls see that they’re not alone in their questions and experiences, and moms support each other in guiding their daughters.
  3. Special Events
The program also works beautifully as part of a retreat or a special event like a mother-daughter tea. These gatherings make the learning experience feel celebratory, strengthening the mother-daughter bond while introducing faith, wisdom, and practical tools for understanding the cycle.

Why Moms Love It

Moms appreciate that the program gives them tools, but not scripts. It doesn’t replace a mother’s voice—it supports it. The videos, activities, and guides are starting points for conversations, not substitutes for them. As the Leader Guide reminds: “Create a calm, welcoming space for your time together. Consider starting with a short prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to guide your discussions.”

Ultimately, a mother’s goal is simple: to help our daughters grow in knowledge, confidence, and appreciation for the gift of being female. As St. Thérèse of Lisieux said, “The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother.”

With the Mother Daughter: Your Body & Cycle program, moms are equipped to share both truth and tenderness with their daughters—setting the stage for a lifetime of health, respect, and joy.
