Lenten Stations to Begin Again

Lent

Written by Katie Zulanas, Executive Director CCL

We find ourselves in Lent again. It is a time to pause and to begin again. Saint Francis de Sales once said: “It is right that you should begin again every day. There is no better way to complete the spiritual life than to be ever beginning it over again.” His wise words provide us food for thought and prayer during Lent. Last year, our CCL staff composed the Lenten Stations of the Cross with thoughts from the saints. We hope their words at each station help you on your Lenten journey to Easter.

This makes good sense as we recommit ourselves to renewing and expanding teaching couple to couple, while also keeping our commitment to supporting couples through a lifetime of fertility and our evangelistic outreach during Lent.

So, let’s start with profound gratitude for the gift of Humanae Vitae and its teaching and the beautiful work of our CCL family of volunteers — both teaching couples and promoters, board members and staff members.

Then let us ask God for the gift of wisdom as we “begin again” this Lent. Asking for forgiveness for any misunderstandings and for detachment from any one system of ideas of how to do things.

We ask you to join us in asking the Holy Spirit to let us rededicate ourselves to sharing the gift of Humanae Vitae — to turn our imaginations over to God’s will to allow him to renew the face of the earth this Lent.
