NFP is really not that hard to learn — literally tens of thousands of couples just like you have learned to use NFP very effectively. Of course, it helps to have adequate instruction!

A CCL class series is made up of three classes spaced one month apart. This is done, not because the material is difficult to master, but to allow a couple to gain three months of fertility charting experience before the series is over. A couple learns enough at the first class to enable them to start practicing NFP the very next day! All CCL classes are available and visible through an online class registration system — register today!

For those couples who do not have a class nearby, a correspondence-based Home Study Course is available.

After learning the method, most couples are able to use the Sympto-Thermal Method without further consulting and after they gain two or three cycles of experience. For women whose fertility signs are changing after childbirth or because premenopause is approaching, CCL has both a Postpartum Class and a Premenopause Class, and each of these classes has a manual.

The cost of learning NFP from CCL is $135.00 for a class series or $159.00 for a Home Study Course, which includes all materials. After that, NFP is basically free. By comparison, most hormonal methods of birth control cost at least $25-$35 per month for the product (pills, patch, shot), as well as the cost of the visit and examination ($30-$125). IUDs cost $175-$400, a vasectomy is $240-$520, and a tubal ligation can cost $2,000-$6,000. (Costs provided by Planned Parenthood.)
