It sounds like this couple has more issues than just NFP; it is the same with my wife and myself. NFP is a problem with us, as well. I took the classes, but resented some of the things the instructor was saying about it. Also, despite the classes I still cannot read the charts and have given up trying. I agree that it takes away the spontaneity and leaves only windows of opportunity to have relations. I will add that my wife is Catholic and I am not. While I have heard that other Protestants practice NFP, I do not care for it.
