Learning NFP through CCL
Class Series
With over 30 years of experience behind us, we can say that undoubtedly the best way to learn NFP from CCL is by attending a class series. CCL classes are taught by professionally trained volunteers who are committed to the principles of the League and who have witnessed the benefits of NFP in their own lives. A series consists of three classes spaced one month apart. Supplemental classes for the postpartum and premenopause transitions—special times which require further instruction—are also offered. Student couples (those who are learning NFP through CCL) use the CCL textbook, The Art of Natural Family Planning®
--Student Guide, and are encouraged to attend classes together if at all possible. Personal consulting is available at each class within a private setting and between classes, as needed. After the series is completed, CCL Teaching Couples will remain in contact with any couples who still need assistance with interpreting their charts and building confidence in practicing NFP.
A fee is charged for the CCL classes, although the Teaching Couple receives no compensation. The series fee covers all the materials (Student Guide, digital thermometer, chart booklet, Virtual Library CD, Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition) as well as a one-year membership in CCL. Membership brings you the bi-monthly magazine, Family Foundations, for on-going support and a connection to the wider CCL family, and access to any additional consultation, if needed.
To find your nearest CCL Teaching Couple
All CCL classes are taught by volunteer teachers who have successfully completed our certification program. Class series are held in various locations, including churches, hospitals, etc. To locate your nearest Teaching Couple, search by country, state, or area code.
Home Study Course
CCL also provides service to couples in areas that are without a local Teaching Couple. The CCL Home Study Course contains all the basic materials used in a typical class series. The Student Guide acts as the textbook. It is laid out in an easy-to-use, logical format so that couples learning at home can easily read, work the practice exercises and chart and interpret their own fertility signs. Couples also have access to a trained consultant to answer their questions and review their charts. In addition, they automatically receive a one-year membership in the League, which entitles them to receive the Family Foundations magazine and free admittance to any CCL class series during that year, should one become available in their area.
