Deacon Bill Turrentine, Chairman
Deacon Bill Turrentine, a Board member since 2007, was not even a Christian when he began college at San Francisco State University, but had a powerful conversion experience while there which eventually led him to the Catholic faith before getting married in 1978. A couple of years later, he read Humanae Vitae for the first time, which inspired he and his wife, Pat, to learn NFP. They eventually felt called to be NFP teachers, and were certified by CCL in 1985. In addition to serving the Church, Deacon Turrentine is head of Turrentine Brokerage, a company that sells grapes from independent growers to wineries, and grapes and wines in bulk between wineries.
John S. Burnham, MD
Dr. John “Jack” S. Burnham is a family physician who lives with his wife, Judy, and their seven children in Dover, Ohio. Dr. Burnham has been an NFP-only physician since 1990 and delivered babies for over 15 years. He and his wife have been certified teachers with CCL since 1994, and they have been active promoters of NFP by speaking to various RCIA groups as well as marriage prep classes and at local Catholic high schools.
Bob Laird
Bob Laird was the past Executive Director of Tepeyac Family Center, a non-profit obstetrics and gynecological medical practice in Fairfax, VA and past Director of Family Life for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington, Virginia. He is also a retired Army officer after 22 years of service. He and his wife, Gerri, have been certified teachers with CCL since 1984. They have been actively speaking and writing about NFP and other marriage and family life issues to a wide array of audiences both locally and nationally for many years. He is currently the manager of the National Catholic High School Honor Roll program for the Cardinal Newman Society and is President of the Cabrini Center for Catholic Health Care.
Erik Tozzi, Vice Chairman
Erik Tozzi and his wife, Anne, have been a CCL teaching couple in the Archdiocese of New York since 2002, where they also present a marriage preparation program every month at St. Joseph’s Seminary. He has served on the Board since 2007. Erik works as a Private Banker at J.P. Morgan, advising high net worth clients on investments, estate planning and debt. He received his BA in European History from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the Columbia Business School.
Mark Kummer, M.D.
Dr. Mark Kummer is a physician specializing in pediatric endocrinology and nutrition, with a background in the ethical dimensions of medicine. In addition to being a medical doctor, Dr. Kummer is fluent in Spanish, holds a Masters Degree in Theology, and has served for many years on a non-profit board that has led the fight against physician-assisted suicide. He and his wife Debra have three daughters and have been CCL supporters for over 28 years.
Rev. Erik Pohlmeier
Fr. Erik Pohlmeier graduated from St. Meinrad College, St. Meinrad, Indiana, and attended Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He received a master’s degree in Spirituality from Rome’s Angelicum University in 1998. Father Pohlmeier served as the chaplain of the CCL of Arkansas Chapter before joining the Board in 2008. He enjoys serving CCL because of a personal conviction in the “truth and benefit of NFP for married love.”
Cecilia LeChevallier
Cecilia LeChevallier brings a rich background in diocesan marriage preparation, having served as the diocesan NFP coordinator in the dioceses of Belleville, Illinois and Camden, New Jersey, and as the marriage preparation coordinator in Camden. She has served as a board member of the Philadelphia FP Network and heads the NFP Advisory Committee in Camden. She and her husband Mark have been CCL teachers for over 26 years and have taught in Montana, Missouri, Illinois, and New Jersey.
